Florida Hunting Season / Mobility Impaired Hunts
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission offers
seventeen hunts on seven wildlife management areas (WMA)
to those hunters Certified
Mobility-Impaired . These hunts are reserved exclusively
for mobility-impaired hunters (hunters who can't walk,
or can't walk without an assisting aid). Having a Disabled
Persons Hunting and Fishing Certificate does not make
you eligible for mobility-impaired hunts. A mobility-impaired
is defined as:
(A) Paraplegic
(B) Hemiplegic
(C) Quadriplegic
(D) Permanently dependent upon a wheelchair for ambulation
(E) Permanently required to use assisting aids to walk
(F) Permanently required to use braces or prosthesis on
both legs
(G) Complete single-leg amputation.
Phase I and II applications are accepted from June 19 to Aug 13 where one permit per person will be issued. Phase III permits will issued beginning 10:00 AM Aug. 14 until all are issued.

The
Eglin Air Force Base Mobility Impaired hunt will be held
February 2-3, 2008. Eglin hunt applicants must
contact the Eglin AFB Natural Resources Section at (850)
882-4165 or (850) 882-4166 to request an application. Applications
will be mailed on November 17, 2007 and all applications
must be returned by January 1, 2008 to be included in
the random drawing. For more information, contact
