North Florida Christian High School Baseball Team Triumphs in SportsAbility Alliance’s Big Kahuna Fundraiser

SportsAbility Alliance’s recent Big Kahuna Event witnessed an exhilarating display of teamwork, and competitive spirit as five teams battled it out for victory. Held at beautiful Maclay Gardens State Park, this event brought together supporters of SportsAbility Alliance for an unforgettable day of adventure.

Among the participating teams, the North Florida Christian Baseball Team emerged as the champions, showcasing their exceptional paddling skills and coordination. Their victory was a testament to their dedication and ability to work together to navigate the course and paddle as a team.

To all our sponsors, volunteers, Key Club members, and participants, we extend our thanks for your dedication, enthusiasm, and support. It is through your collective efforts that the Big Kahuna continues to thrive and bring people together in celebration of outdoor adventure, teamwork, and inclusion.

This year, we were fortunate to have a record-breaking eight sponsors, whose generous support helped make the event possible. We extend our deepest thanks to:

  • Wilson Family Medicine
  • North Florida Christian High School Baseball Team
  • Capital City Kiwanis Club
  • Tallahassee Northside Kiwanis Club
  • Bradfordville Kiwanis
  • Virtual Kiwanis
  • Kiwanis Club of Tallahassee
  • Tallahassee Killearn Kiwanis

Your commitment to community engagement and inclusion has made a significant impact, not only in ensuring the success of the event but in furthering the mission of SportsAbility Alliance!

Amidst the chilly waters and the thrill of competition at the recent Big Kahuna Voyager Style Canoe Event, a special mention is owed to the brave members of the Key Clubs and Circle K International and the dedicated volunteers who ensured the event's success.

The participation of Sail High School, Maclay School, James S. Rickards High School Key Clubs and FSU Circle K International added a vibrant energy to the event, as their members fearlessly paddled through the waters! Their presence not only enriched the competition but also exemplified the spirit of service and camaraderie!

We would also like to extend a big shoutout to Bill Redmond and his organization Removing the Barriers for generously providing the Voyager Canoes for our event, and to Randy Chesnut for his invaluable support in transporting the boats and serving as our Race Director. We'd also like to thank John Beeman for providing his services as a rescue boat out on the water so we can safely host this event! We truly appreciate their contributions - this event wouldn't have been possible without them!

To all our sponsors, volunteers, and participants, we extend our thanks for your dedication, enthusiasm, and support. It is through your collective efforts that the Big Kahuna continues to thrive and bring people together in celebration of outdoor adventure, teamwork, and inclusion. Thank you once again to all who contributed to the success of this year's event.
